The term “store equipment” describes all of the equipment, fixtures, and other supplies needed to operate a convenience store. All fixtures and equipment necessary to operate a convenience store are included, including walk-in coolers, store fixtures, counters, shelving, refrigeration equipment, cash registers, safes, fountain dispensing equipment, coffee equipment, ice makers, tables, and any other items.

This equipment might be put in or near the buildings or other improvements on the real estate, or it might be considered personal property related to those structures or improvements or placed there. Pole lights, pole signage, and any other fixtures or equipment necessary for the functioning of a convenience store may also be included in this equipment.

It’s important to remember that “store equipment” specifically disclaims petroleum-related equipment. This indicates that tools used for storing or dispensing petroleum products is not considered store equipment and is not covered by this definition.

Finally, with the exception of fuel equipment, store equipment includes all of the necessary fixtures, furnishings, machinery, and equipment for operating a convenience store.
