Gratings

Any regularly spaced group of almost identical, parallel, elongated components is a grating. Gratings can have two sets, in which case the second set is typically perpendicular to the first, but they typically only have one set of elongated pieces. It has many different applications. Examples include walkways, platforms, safety barriers, drainage covers and ventilation grates.
